Bizen Ware by Akimasa Yamane

Trained under Masami Nishikawa, a direct disciple of Toyo Kaneshige, the first Living National Treasure in Japan.

1990: Built a kiln on Ikenoue in Imbe.First Kiln Exhibition: Held at Gallery Koma in Himeji City.

1991: Hosted a debut party at Hotel New Otani in Tokyo.

1997: Selected for the Biennale Unglazed Exhibition.

1999: Three works selected for the Nikkiten Exhibition at the Tokyo Metropolitan Art Museum.

2000: Two works selected for the Nikkiten Exhibition at the Tokyo Metropolitan Art Museum.

2001: Three works selected for the Nikkiten Exhibition at the Tokyo Metropolitan Art Museum.

2002: One work selected for the Nikkiten Exhibition at the Tokyo Metropolitan Art Museum.

2003: Created a Bizen ware container for Suntory Whisky <Hibiki>, the first time Hibiki was put in Japanese pottery, exhibited at the Suntory Yamazaki Distillery.

2005: Exhibitions held at the Kyushu Fukuoka International Conference Center and the Kitakyushu Prince Arena. Kikka Prize-winning works exhibited at the Okayama Prefectural Museum of Art, Fukuyama City Museum of Art, and Takamatsu City in Kagawa Prefecture.

2008: Exhibited at the Shanghai International Airport Hotel and received an award from the Genga-kai.

2009: Exhibition held at the 21st Century Hotel in Beijing.

2010: Collaborative work with Shanghai artist Peng Mingliang.

2012: Collaborative work with Lu Kang and Yang Zhongming in Shanghai.

2013: Participated in the 120th anniversary exhibition of Mao Zedong’s birth at the Shanghai Library with ceramic plaques featuring Mao’s poems.

2014: Exhibition held in Jing'an District Shanghai and at the Shanghai Expo Exhibition Hall.

2015: Appointed as a special professor at East China Normal University in Shanghai. Exhibited at the Master of the Nets Garden in Suzhou (a UNESCO World Heritage classical garden and one of China's Four Great Gardens) and at the Suzhou International Art Fair.

2017: Received certification for the Official Bizen Firefall Kiln by the Shijo Tsukasa Family, the Shijo Chunagon Yamakage's direct lineage,
