Emi Nakamura's Commitment
After studying ikebana and floral arrangement and working as an instructor for many years, I now create works inspired by the emotions I draw from nature and plants.
Guided by the philosophy that humans are part of nature and that true beauty lies in the harmony of all life on Earth, I exhibit my work both domestically and internationally.
Drawing on Japan’s view of nature, its virtues, and the philosophies that have shaped its people, I create my work with a foundation of respect for Eastern culture—including Shinto, Buddhism, and Zen.
In addition to artificial flowers, she incorporates traditional crafts such as silk textiles and mizuhiki, expressing the theme of “harmony between East and West.”
Through the universal motif of flowers, she perceives the world as a single entity and infuses her works with a desire for peace.
