Featured Artist: Akimasa Yamane
Ceramic artist Akimasa Yamane is dedicated to “unglazed yo-hen”—a technique that creates the distinctive appearance of yo-hen without the use of glaze, achieved through his unique research and methods.
By exploring the properties of clay and the changes it undergoes during firing, he creates works that reveal a rich variety of expressions depending on how light hits them and the viewer’s angle.
Please take a moment to appreciate his original artistic expression, which uncovers new possibilities within the world of traditional Tenmoku tea bowls.
