Tuji Yoshihiro
~Profile~
Based in the studio “Kokuraku,” located across from Kansai International Airport.
Drawing inspiration from images evoked by words in novels and essays from Japan and abroad, the artist constructs a unique world through painting and printmaking. From the early stages of their career, they have been deeply influenced by Surrealism, developing their work around the exploration of the inner self and its visualization. In addition to oil painting, he has expanded his range of expression by crossing over into diverse materials and techniques such as acrylic, watercolor, and pastel. Since 2015, he has focused on researching printmaking and has exhibited his work primarily at international mini-print exhibitions.
Consistently grounding his work in “self-awareness as a Japanese person,” he continues to attempt to capture his own existence and inner world on a two-dimensional plane.

Yoshihiro Tsuji's Commitment
I currently maintain a studio called “Dokuraku” across from Kansai International Airport in Japan, where I create paintings and prints that express a unique world—both figurative and abstract—inspired by the language of novels and essays from Japan and abroad.
Early on, I became deeply drawn to Surrealism and learned how to express what is true to my inner self.
During this time, I explored a wide range of techniques, utilizing not only oil paints but also acrylics, watercolors, and pastels.
From 2015 to the present, I have been researching printmaking to pursue my own unique style, exhibiting my works both domestically and internationally.
In any case, what remains consistent is my awareness of being Japanese, my reflection on who I am, and my expression of myself on the canvas.
